SUNSHINE STATE
New zine published by Brown Owl Press
In January of 2016, I went to Tampa, Florida, and took a Super 8 film camera on a canoe down the Hillsborough River. My friend, Athena, and her father accompanied me as my guides. Ahmet, a Turkish captain I had met 10 years earlier, who happened to be in Tampa at the same time, steered the canoe as I filmed. When I reviewed the footage, the stills called to me more than the motion. Some of those stills have been laid out in this zine beautifully designed by Al Palmer at Brown Owl Press.
